Oh yes, I finally found myself down here where I think I should have started. Can't say I'm much of a messageboarder - I don't understand all this stuff going on around this box where I'm writing. But let me introduce myself: Hi everybody! I'm Timo from Finland, 45 years of age, married, 2 chıldren, working as an operations assistant. Great big fan of golden oldies music like the Carpenters. I think the first album of theirs I heard was The Singles (1974?) but of course I was familiar with their music earlier on. There is just something magical about the songs, arrangements and yes: Karen. One of the only voices that sound happy and sad at the same time and just great all the time! How I (and we all) miss her! We also make music of our own with my big brother, we've been at it from the 70's, for our own fun (so don't worry: I have nothing to sell!) , thought I just mention it. This Avenue looks so broad from a newcomer's point of view, but there's so much to find too! All the best to Everybody & keep on smiling (with/at me)!!

Hey Timo, I totally understand what you're saying/writing. You say you're not "much of a messageboarder" - me neither. All I've done before on the Internet was checking my mails, spending some time on YouTube and doing some research for university, that was it basically. But then I found the Richard and Karen Carpenter Avenue and today I can't remember how it was without this forum. I never thought I would participate on such a board, interacting with people I never met in real life but it's great! I'm sure you'll get along very well over here, you already do..

Thank you all! It sure feels great to be here! Maybe I'll learn to use those decorations on my messages someday. Now you'll have to just imagine - bling bling twinkle twinkle -

;D ;D Timo - though I made an attempt to welcome you here in the Only Yesterday thread, I thought I'd take this chance to formally welcome you to this fine, interesting, educational, warm, fun and friendly forum. We have a wonderful group of people here, and we do like to discuss everything Carpenters. Go back through some of the threads, and if you see something you like, and want to comment on - bring it back round. We do that often. It's wonderful to get new viewpoints, and to "rediscover" things through another's eyes. CG has been a truly brilliant addition to our forum, and she has brought a whole new perspective to my thinking. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. Please let me know if I can help you with anything while you're here. Best to you, Tim AKA YesterdayOnceMore ;D ;D
