Hi Rick, I really enjoyed watching those live clips. I like the new single, too. I think the Solitaire Remix is the best one. Her forthcoming album seems to be quite interesting. She worked with some really good producers. I'm very curious about her collaboration with Ziggy Marley..

The new album is called "Crayons" and is set to be released on may 20, 2008. I will be first in line to buy it. Crayons is an upcoming album by disco legend Donna Summer set for a release on the Burgundy Records label. It's set for release on May 20, 2008 (2008-05-20) in the United States. Overview Recorded over a period of three years since signing with the independent Burgundy label in 2005, Crayons marks Summer's first full-length studio album in over seventeen years since the release of 1991's Mistaken Identity. According to her site, she has worked on the album with producers and writers such as Greg Kurstin, Danielle Brisebois, J. R. Rotem, Toby Gad, Evan Bogart - son of Summer's former record label boss Neil Bogart (of Casablanca Records) - and Lester Mendez. Summer recorded twelve songs for the album and the title track is a duet between her and reggae veteran Ziggy Marley. The album's first official single, "Stamp Your Feet", will be released to radio on April 15, 2008. A promotional single for the Latin-flavored "I'm a Fire" recently reached number-one giving Summer her 13th number-one hit on Billboard's dance club-music play chart making her the first artist to have a #1 dance hit in each of the past four decades. Track listing 1. "Stamp Your Feet" (Donna Summer, Danielle Brisebois, Greg Kurstin) – 3:40 2. "Mr. Music" (Summer, Evan Bogart, J. R. Rotem, Meredith Willson) 3. "Crayons" featuring Ziggy Marley 4. "The Queen Is Back" 5. "Run with It" 6. "Sand on My Feet" 7. "Drivin' Down Brazil" (Summer, Brisebois, Kurstin) 8. "I'm a Fire" (Summer, Sebastian Morton, Al Kasha) 9. "Slide Over Backwards" 10. "Science of Love" 11. "Be Myself Again" 12. "Bring Down the Reign" I feel this will bring Donna back into the Top Ten of the album chart. I am really looking forward to this new release. *Sidenote... another favorite of mine is releasing a new album soon... that would be Coldplay... will talk about this in another thread. it will be produced by the legendary Brian Eno.

Now that the album is released finally, what do you think about it? I haven't heard all the songs in full length but I already have my favourites. In general, I think it would be cool, if she would have sticked a bit more to the Disco genre. Take Disco to 2008 - who else if not her.. But that's just a personal thing. I'll have to wait for the Remixes to release. And I know there are some good Remixes already, like the Solitaire Mix of "I'm a fire". My favourites on the album are "Crayons" (I knew this will be a great song), "The Queen is Back" and the Bonus track "It's only love"..

So far my favorite tracks are: Stamp your Feet Science Of Love I'm A Fire Crayons Mr. Music Driving Down Brazil Slide Over Backward (this one is my favorite... it's different from the others) Overall the album is scorching hot. I have been playing it quite a bit.

I couldn't agree more. Donna Summer is superb just a muscial legend really. I love her stuff - I think she is under appreciated as vocalist and a writer - I mean she wrote "Dim all the lights" for Rod Stewart - thank god - she took it back - its a great piece -
She is a legend and sadly just not appreciated as much as i woudl like
Her version of "Could it be magic" is my favorite
Macarthur Park is an amazing song - with just Jimmy webb on the piano demo but she takes it like twelve steps further
thanks for the links - this is great
