Here's a fun game.
I will list a word which is used on a Carpenters song or several Carpenters songs.
The object is to list as many Carpenters/Karen/Richard songs which have the word in it. Also post the part of the lyric with that word.
The word for round one is: DOWN

I will start with an easier choice "Rainy Days and Mondays"
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me DOWN

It is amazing to make note of the common elements among songs this way...
... Why do stars fall DOWN from the sky?
--- If they'll only shine their lucky starlight DOWN on me...
... Help me if you can I'm feeling DOWN!
... You know how rainy weather gets me DOWN when I'm alone.
and as Enigma mentioned,
... Rainy days and Mondays always get me DOWN...
Until now through the word association with "DOWN," I have never thought of considering "Close to You" and "You're Enough" paired together with their common stellar theme, and the similar references to fending off the blues running through "Help, "Sandy" and "Rainy Days and Mondays," the last two also linking the mood with the weather. What an interesting, different and new way the look at the songs we know oh so well! ...

I always like these word games, though I'm not that quick thinking..... From "Horizon" album, the song "Aurora": "Patters of another day Awaken slowly out of gray A tolling bell Rolling DOWN THE ALLEYWAY It's calling all my dreams away, My dreams are songs I play"
