Rick has provided us with some interesting and challenging games on this forum, so I thought I would return the favor by coming up with one of my own and give Rick an opportunity to work one out as well.
Let's start with a fairly easy one. This one is rated with a difficulty level of 1 or 2.
Artist: Supreme Ruler of Christmas Songs
Song: Slow (2 possible answers and 4 connections, two which are fairly easy to identify and the other two are less commonly known but nonetheless very interesting to know about)
ENJOY!

Good idea Dreams... I actually have about 30 games lined up... I was just giving the game a rest for a weel or two. Glad to see you came up with a game.
I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this game... but I will give others a chance before I ring in with my guesses. FYI... in my opinion Karen Carpenter is the Supreme Ruler of Christmas Songs.

Hi Rick, I agree. As in poetry, I love phrases that have multiple meanings and are open to diverse personal interpretions. Similarly, you can arrive at the song in the either of TWO ways and still get the final connection(s) in any of FOUR ways.

When I think of "a voice of Christmas" (other than Karen) Nat King Cole comes to mind. (Maybe "supreme ruler" is a clue for his name.) Even if he is the correct artist, so far I'm not thinking of a song that would fit the clue "slow."

Any other guesses?

Okay, since I see atleast one other has tried to guess at an answer I will give it a shot. I would say the artist is Bing Crosby - I think I know what the song is but again I will give others a chance to give a guess.

Hi Rick, Another good try, but O.E.'s guess of "Nat King Cole" is partially on the right track and closer to the correct answer. If you figure out the artist correctly, the song and the connection should follow almost directly. Again, the clues are: Artist: Supreme Ruler of Christmas SongsSong: Slow (2 possible answers and 4 connections, two which are fairly easy to identify and the other two are perhaps less commonly known)

Perry Como is my guess to the artist! I'll come back with the song! Dr Johnny P LoveTrain Hi DJLOVETRAIN, Perry Como is not the artist. There are actually TWO EMBEDDED CLUES for the ARTIST's name (remember that the guess "Nat King Cole" is PARTIALLY correct). Artist: Supreme Ruler of Christmas SongsSong: Slow (2 possible answers) Here is a visual clue for either of the two songs as well:

Okay Dreams... I've given this a little thought. I had to think about someone who could be connected to SUPREME RULER... but is also known for Christmas tunes. The only one I can think of is ELVIS PRESLEY.
p.s. if that one's not right I still have one more guess which connects to Supreme Ruler and Christmas Songs... but I will wait to see if Elvis is right and if anybody else may have any other guesses.

Carole King and Its Too Late are my next 2 guesses Dr Johnny P LoveTrain Hi Dr Johnny P LoveTrain, Bingo! The Artist is Carole King ("Christmas Song"=CAROL + "Supreme Ruler"=KING). One of the songs is indeed "It's Too Late" (The White Rabbit from the story "Alice in Wonderland" is known for saying/singing " I'm late! I'm late! I'm late for an important date!..." and something considered to be "Slow" would by extension be considered LATE). Now what are the connections to the Carpenters? Good Job, DJ!

Hi Rick, Good guess, but check my most recent response to DJLOVETRAIN. I have considered phrasing my clue for the artist as "The Elvis of Christmas Music" but it sounded a bit awkward. However, you were correct in equating "Supreme Ruler" with Elvis' moniker "King."
