I am curious how you made the association of the clue McCartney and Linkletter with your guess of Simon and Garfunkel for the artist(s)? To me it looks like the clue has something to do with Paul/Linda McCartney and Art Linkletter, which is leads me nowhere...
All I know is that Art Linkletter blamed his daughter's death to the Beatles as "the leading missionaries" of an LSD drug culture.
