This time Twisted Logic will feature an artist and that artists album. Guess the artist, the album and it's connection to Carpenters/Karen/Richard.
Here are the clues:
Artist: NEW YORK
Album: SWINGING TRAVELOGUE
This game is rated a THREE STAR difficulty level - which means this one is of medium difficulty.

The artist is Frank Sinatra. But the album is not "Close To You" - I don't think Sinatra ever released an album named "Close To You".
Once again here is the clue for the Sinatra album: SWINGING TRAVELOGUE

"Fly Me To The Moon" is not correct.
Actually the easy part of this is guessing the artist and album name. The tough part is to guess the Carpenters connection.
Here is the clue for the Sinatra album again: SWINGING TRAVELOGUE

Sinatra recorded a song called "Close to You" on the album "Close to You (and More)" in 1957, but it is totally unrelated to the one that the Carpenters were known for. There is another similarly older pop standard-type song "For All We Know" (sung by others), which is not the same as the Grammy-winning motion picture theme that the Carpenters popularized from "Lovers and Other Strangers."

Frank Sinatra made an album called "A Swingin' Affair" in 1957 which contains the song "From this Moment on" by Cole Porter, which Karen and Richard also recorded on their British-imported "Live at the Palladium" album.

You're welcome, Dr Johnny P LoveTrain! BTW, when are you scheduled for your next gig at WBUL? I finally got the chance to hear you yesterday according to the schedule posted on the website, but it seemed to be out of sync with what was being played at the time, even taking the 3-hour difference between the east coast and the west coast here into consideration.

Very good guess Dreams... but "A Swingin' Affair" is not the correct album. As a matter of fact, though, I was going to use this one on a future TL Game for the song itself.
Here's another clue which may help. The Frank Sinatra album in question is somewhat a concept album in that all the songs on the album have a similar theme. The Carpenters connection has to do with the entire album - not just one song on it.
Here's the clue again: SWINGING TRAVELOGUE

Good guess Wisejester... there have been many good guesses. But yet not the right one.
The one you brought up Wisejester, I never thought of. Very good.
Here's the clue again: SWINGING TRAVELOGUE Here's a clue to the correct answer. Let's take the emphasis off the "Swingin'" part of the clue and put it on the "Travelogue" - that's where you may find the answer.
Here's yet one more clue which may help. The Frank Sinatra album in question is somewhat a concept album in that all the songs on the album have a similar theme.
The connection to the Carpenters is actually a little more direct than simply a name of a song or record company.
Good Luck...

Artist: Frank Sinatra Album: Come Fly With Me The concept album 'travels' around the world. Correct Wisejester! The album is Frank Sinatra's "Come Fly With Me" - Now for the big question... What is the Carpenters connection?

Well, since Sintra's album was a concept album (one on which each song relates to the next) and looking for a similar Carpenters album theme...I'm going to say the connection is 'Now and Then' with each Carpenters song relating to each other by time and the type of music we listened to Now and Then.
