Game #6 is a Difficulty Level of Five Stars. This is the most difficult we can get.
Object of the game is to name the artist, the song and the connection to Carpenters/Karen/Richard.
Remember the song in this game and all games of Twisted Logic is not a song recorded by Carpenters.
Here are the clues:
Artist Clue: Pierrot *see note below
Song: Longing
*note: The Pierrot is a pantomime which has clown like features and actions.

It may be time for another clue...at least for me. My brain is just not wrapping around this one.

This is a tough one so I will give another clue.
The clue will be an artist clue.
Artist: 1st clue: Pierrot, 2nd clue: Patches
Song: Longing
The rest is up to you - a bit of research may have to be done.

Hi Rick, I am a bit mystified. Does the artist's name have something to do with a harlequin, jester, joker, or comedian? When you gave the second clue pf "patches" I thought of the diamond-pattern of a jester's suit. Does the song clue of "Longing" have anything to do with "Wishing and Hoping"? Let me know if I am even lukewarm on any of these clues...

The artists name itself has nothing to do with a harlequin, jester, joker, or comedian. But the artist did include a look or maybe a style of The Pierrot. Patches is another name related to this artist - but again Patches itself has nothing to do with the artists actual name.
As for the song "Wishin' and Hopin"" - this is not the correct song for the clue LONGING.
Hope you guys get it. I've actually given enough clues now for someone clever enough to figure it out.
Pierrot and Patches for the name and Longing for the song.
Who can get this?
What's the connection. Once you get the artist and song title there will actually be two connections to Carpenters in this one - but it is a tough one.

Sorry Wisejester it is not Sammy Davis Jr or "Mr. Bojangles".
But here is a picture of a Pierrot - maybe this will jog your memory of someone you saw on the popular music scene at some point in time. As a reminder Patches is a name affiliated with this person.
The song has something to do with Longing.

Here's another clue to this artist's identity.
In one of this artists other top ten hits the names Fred Astaire and Rudy Valentino are mentioned. The song which mentions these names in is not the song which the clue LONGING is for. But this new clue should atleast give you more of an idea as to who the artist is.

Here's a crazy guess - Is the artist Gene Simmons?

Interesting answer Makapipi - but it is not Gene Simmons. I figured someone would mention him somewhere along the way. As Gene did have a connect with Karen. Though, I would not necessarily call the makeup Kiss wore the Pierrot style.
Another clue this artist dressed as a Pierrot only for the first few albums that this person released - after that the Pierrot look was dropped.
So now we have these clues:
Artist: PIERROT, PATCHES, Mentions the names FRED ASTAIRE and RUDY VALENTINO in another top ten hit by this particular artist.
Song: LONGING
There are two Carpenters connections to the song which I've given the clue of LONGING for.

Let's add a few more clues:
This artist has said "I can't dance" and then quickly turned around and said "I can dance". This person's done a two-step, quick-step and a bossa nova.
Here's the other clues:
Artist: PIERROT, PATCHES, Mentions the names FRED ASTAIRE and RUDY VALENTINO in another top ten hit by this particular artist.
Song: LONGING
There are two Carpenters connections to the song which I've given the clue of LONGING.

Finally a breakthrough. Yes, the artist is LEO SAYER.
Now which of his hits is the song LONGING a clue for? Think about it, it's one of his very biggest hits.
What are the two Carpenters Connections to this huge hit of his?

Finally a breakthrough. Yes, the artist is LEO SAYER.
Now which of his hits is the song LONGING a clue for? Think about it, it's one of his very biggest hits.
What are the two Carpenters Connections to this huge hit of his? Let's see... Leo Sayer wore a clown costume based on the Pierrot character for "The Show Must Go On", which helped the single to reach number 2 in the UK. He formed Patches with Dave Courtney, who co-wrote the song "Long Tall Glasses", which mentions Fred Astaire and Rudy Valentino. One of Sayer's biggest solo hits in the U.S. was "When I Need You", which was written by Albert Hammond and Carole Bayer-Sager. Hammond co-wrote the lyrics for "I Need To Be In Love" with John Bettis. Sager was married to Burt Bacharach, who composed the music for "Close to You", "Baby It's You", "A House is Not a Home", "Any Day Now", "I'll Never Fall in Love Again", "Make It Easy on Yourself", "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" and other songs on various Bacharach-David medleys. The path of the clues to this game has got to be one of the most "twisted" ever!
