3 stars....it's an ok song...love ann Murray's version, but Karen sings it more intimately and with a softer version. I like the part especially when Karen sings the chorus about the 2nd or so time, and it goes : "and there I go, i just fall in love again, just one touch it happens EVERY time..and she holds the note about a second or 2 with the word every.

It's a good song and Karen does a great job with it but to me it seems like it drags on a bit and I get bored with it quick.

5-Stars All the way...
This song is absolutely fabulous in every way. Carpenters have easily recorded the definitive version of this song.
Musically standing this recording is a true masterpiece. Beginning with the lavish orchestration masterfully assembled by the virtuoso Peter Knight. His technique added a somewhat otherworldly effect to the music. It's as if the music lifts you up to the Heavenly clouds each time the song plays. Magnificent!
Then there is Karen's voice - perfectly suited for this song. She sings this one to perfection in all her silky smoothness, not once does she stray from her range of comfort - making excellent use of her god-given ability.
A true classic of all-time!

I liked this song when Anne Murray brought it out - LOVED it when I saw it listed on Passage, and ADORED it when I heard Karen SING it. Oh my gosh....what a chilling rendition of an already beautiful song. She dressed it up and took it out for a spin, and between her absolutely intimate reading of it, and Richard's way with the orchestration, well...the entire arrangement.....it was a winner. Of course I don't know for sure, but do think this one would certainly have rivaled Anne Murray's number on the charts, because this version is far superrior, in my opinion. It reminds me of Billy Joel's Shameless - of course Billy did it well, but it got only moderate results. THEN, Garth Brooks (who is a HUGE Billy Joel fan) sunk his teeth into it and WHAM! One of Billy's babies grew up to be a Country Song. Garth's version of Shameless had so much heart in it - where as I think it was just filler for Billy on his Stormfront Album. My lovely daughter Jennifer was born just after Passage was released - and I used to sing this song to her as a lullabye - nothing traditional for me - this song was just too good the way Karen so gently sang it.... "Baby, I take you in my arms, and though I'm wide awake, I know my dreams are comin' true, and oh I just fall in ove again - just one touch and then it happens every time and here I go, I just fall in love again and when I do - can't help myself I fall in love with you...." It made for a wonderfully positive lullabye to sing to my new little creation that I kept falling in love with second after second. It always put her to sleep, too! Tim
