5 BILLION stars to this. I vaguely remember seeing it sung on our wonkey ole TV when I was too young to know who the Cs were & thinkin "thats nice" Karen was on a stage surrounded by lots of people & still I dont know if it was shown on our Top Of The Pops as a PROM film or not..this way.... Wish I knew..Mayb it was as it was at no12 and I think it was T O T Pops I was watching, anyway I promptly forgot it till I heard Postman & it was the reason why I got the N & T LP as me 1st Cs LP

Five Stars
I hinged between 4 and 5 stars for this one and ultimitely gave it five. The musicianship on this song is outstanding once again. Tony Peluso's guitar work really shines and the percussion and rhythm parts of this song also propel it to being one of the most enjoyable listens on the entire album. Certainly not as strong as say "This Masquerade" or "I Can't Make Music" - but a five star song in it's own right. Nothing can beat a good-time upbeat Carpenters tune. Just fills the whole room with sunshine.

::)Gave this 3 stars, though actually i should've given it 4 because the more I hear it, seems the more I like it. I just know that seeing the C's perform this in the live in Japan video, that Karen's very happy and clapping and trying to get the audience to join in with her also. She has fun with it, and I guess seeing that makes me like it more. All the instruments come together perfectly.

5 stars! I have never heard a better arrangement of this song. Richards takes this folk song and adds the elements of pop, adding a unique flare. Jimbo

I have always loved this fun & upbeat song! I have heard a few others do this song too...but no one sings it quite like Karen does, to my enjoyment!!!!
Karen just adds a touch of magic to every song she sings...and it's a joy to hear her singing something she's having fun with!
I'm giving it 5 stars.....what an arrangement....what a voice! 8c)

I much prefer the live performances of "Jambalaya" to the album cut. For me, the existing live recordings benefit from that extra stridency. Karen clearly had fun performing this, and I love her lazy pronounciation of "the place is buzzin..."
4 Stars. L
