;D Sing is a real classic almost signature song for the C's. I gave it 3 stars cuz it's not one of my very favorites. I like seeing the video when the C's were in Japan in Osaka and Karen singing it with the children's choir there. "Sing" reminds me a lot of the Coca Cola commercial in the 70's where all these people of all different nationalities stand together I think around a Christmas tree and sing...I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing". To me, that commercial says a lot...we all should band together for good and it's a hope for peace. From what I know, Karen really liked it when the audience took part on some songs and sang or clapped together.

4 stars. I think this song is good. 'Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing, sing a song'. This is meaningful.

The Munchkin song. Brill fab & Cs at their best with a cheesey song. 2nd most requested song by the Cs from people listening to Radio 2 & Capitol Gold radio stations Carpenter freindly stations indeed. So I was very surprised that this single never charted in the UK when released.

Four Stars
I love this song. Karen sings it's beautifully. It's one of her very best vocal performances (but than again you can say that about most anything she sang - she was great). The musicianship is lovely. Richard even received a Grammy Award nomination for his musical arrangement of this song. I play it often.

;D Sing is truly a signature Carpemnters tune. Its one I listen to often but it is a happy song. This is one of those tunes that only the Carpenters could bring out the magic. From children to adults it had mass appeal.

This is not one of my favorite Carpenters tracks, although like "Top Of The World", I appreciate it's impact. Although mainly associated Rich and Karen, "Sing" has been covered by many artists since it's humble beginnings on "Sesame Street" (Perry Como and Barbra Streisand to name only two).
If nothing else, "Sing" demonstrates Karen's ability to interpret even the most impassive lyrics with distinct poignancy. I love the way she soars through the line..."make it simple, to last your whole life long..."
I think that the secret of "Sing's" success is in it's mass appeal though. It's message is a humble one: what human on earth cannot relate in some way to the joy of song?
4 Stars. L

5 stars!!!!! If I had to choose one song that I'd have to listen to for the rest of my life, I'm sure it would be Sing. It's my all time favourite song (not only of the C.'s but in general) and the song that brought me to the Carpenters. I totally agree with Ming, as you can see in my signature, "Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear. Just sing, sing a song" These meaningful words sung by Karens wonderful voice, could not get any better. Even though I know there are maybe more highbrow songs of the Carpenters, that I also love very much, nothing touches me more than Sing. I also love the live performance from the Budokan-Concert. Adorable in every way!

I don't care about the high cheese coca cola(ish) commercial factor that's been said. It's the perfect start to the album, and I love the sentiment behind it. Love the bouncy la-la-la chorus in the background with Karen's sublime sweet perfect melody lullaby voice in full force. It's one I have on repeat play in my head. Another 5 from me.
