The B-side to Goodbye 2 love in the Uk till it was re-released in its own right in 74 & made 32 I believe. I always thought this song was Karen "losing that Younger sounding voice from the arly days & the start of the mature warm bell like voice we know & love today. This song also caused me to have a mega row in a shop sometime in 78.....U dont wanna know. carps1000 Ken

I Won't Last A Day Without You has always been one of my fav Carpenter songs. The lyrics are so touching that this song is "my song" between my best friend Nancy and me. We both think of the other when we hear it and inverably tears come to our eyes. I believe it's a perfect combination of singer and arranger which is nothing new when one considers that the respective individuals are Karen and Richard Carpenter - unparalleled artists. I just love this song!

This is my favorite all- time song by Karen. I can play it over and over and never seem to tire of the sweetness and innocense. Ironic that Karen was at her lowest point and Richard had a hard time trying to dub or match the harmony but it is #1 with me.

Five Stars
Sheer perfection in song. This song is absolutely beautiful. It just doesn't get much better than this. Karen sings this one wonderfully. The lyrics are outstanding. The musicianship is excellent. This song by all means contains that wonderful Carpenters "chill factor".
After "Road Ode" and "A Song For You" this is my third favorite song from this album.

4 Stars A nice track and an opposite line of thinking in comparison to most of the lyrics in this albums songs and again, a chance for Karen to reach some of her higher notes.
cheekily, I remember this song being used in the background of a british television commercial advertising PG Tips (Tea). I guess advertising works when you use The Carpenters.

5 stars
A Carpenters' classic written by the team of Williams and Nichols. It still sounds as fresh today as it did 30 years ago.

Another stunning vocal by Karen, and an all-time favorite track. Karen's chrystal clear doubled-tracked chorus vocal never ceases to bring the hairs up on the back of my neck. It's hard to imagine Karen performing countless takes of this song when the end result sounds so effortless.
Five Stars. L

Paul William's lyrics & Roger Nichol's melody are flawless. Put into the hands of Richard and Karen, and you have perfection personified. One of my favorite Carpenters recordings. Karen delivers the lyric with such a moving simplicity. I also have to note, that when I've seen Paul Williams perform this in concert, he ALWAYS mentions Karen, - and how much he adored her, and what a brilliant performer she was. This is a classic, and I never tire of listening to it. Warmest regards, magiclamp
