Five Stars
Fantastically beautiful. This is the epitome of a Carpenters classic. It has all the elements. Karen's outstanding vocals, excellent musicianship, meaningful lyrics and that "chill factor". A+ all the way.
If this were to have been released as an A-side single it certainly would have reached the top 3 - possibly #1.

5 stars all over the place! Love it..excellent message and overall lovely... I really like when Karen sings "give them love..let it shine all around them"...i like the way she says love...and then the harp and that sweet "tinkling of the piano'...just adds a special touch.

5 Stars Again, a track that is well presented and certainly popular. Imagine hearing a song in a movie and deciding that its the next recording you are going to make despite all the demo tapes you must have listened to and considered leading upto this period.

Yet again, we marvel! It never ceases to amaze me just how seamlessly Karen could merge warmth and maturity with naked innocence.
"Bless The Beast" is a perfect example. She sings the verses with classical control and restraint (what singing teachers call "keeping your voice in a box"!)....and then, but a few moments later (almost in the same breath) she's literally belting out the chorus in a bluesy full chest tone. Now she sounds young, passionate and liberated. And boy, I love the way she builds in to those choruses..."the world they see....". Of course, just like on "Superstar" and "Won't Last A Day", Rich was clever in his use of Karen's doubled-tracked vocals on the chorus; they sit beautifully back in the mix.
This song, for me, has that little extra stridency and therefore fully derserves each one of it's five stars. I love the crisper bass/drum-track on the recent remix. L
