Three Stars
I enjoy the humor in this short piece. The harmonies are great. But since it's only a few seconds long it just can't rate as a five star song. It's still quite amusing.

I don't even know if this could be considered a song, but when records were records this was a clever way to switch sides. Richard wrote the lyrics to this and has said this is why John Bettis wrote the vast majority of the lyrics of Carpenter/Bettis collaborations! It shows Carpenters sense of humor and help to dispel the notion that they only recorded slow ballads. Way to go Carps. I love it!

Only 2 stars even though the harmonies are perfect....didn't know what the words were until lately and then i also thought it was just unnecessary....but as far as adding some humor I guess that's what it did

Sang along with it but really could have left it very easily.

Three stars. This song shows that Karen and Richard have a sense of humour.

2 Stars I always wonder who came up with this idea.....it would seem that this is something that started live in concert No real deep thoughts about the intermission melody LOL

Great vocal arrangement and a fun song. I remember hearing this for the first time as a kid in the 70's and laughing out loud!

Maybe this was inspired by those silly Beatles ditty's ("Why don't we do it in the road" comes to mind)? Or maybe they were just poking fun at themselves ("Invocation"/"Benediction")? Or maybe it was just to break the ballads up again? Who knows? But whatever the reasoning behind it...it's kinda fun - that English accent on "bathroom" can't help but raise a smile.
2 Stars. L

"Intermission". I can just picture Karen and Richard standing there laying this vocal down, trying not to crack up! It's always meaningful when your favorite artist interjects a little something "personable" into their art. I think this little moment lets us see another side of Karen and Richard. Richard and Karen were both fans of Spike Jones, and I think there's a little of his humor in "Intermission". Cute!!! Very cute. Sincerely, magiclamp
