Hello captstraight! This is actually the first party of this sort I have been to,but it seems like a general get together and discussion of various things, like at most parties, but I'm sure the attention will to some degree be to The Carpenters throughout the evening. Tim, actually it hasn't been cold at all here yet- still rode to work in shorts a couple days last week.

They are good songs.Marie is looking good.I saw all 100 Osmonds and I heard Marie sing Paper Roses and that was it for me.I have Donny's Love Songs of the 70s cd and Marie's Magic of Christmas cd,the one I just listed the tracks for.All the songs on both albums are very good.

Rick sorta set the "mood" with his suggestion of "Sweet, Sweet Smile". The only "big" album I have is the Gold collection, along with Christmas Collection. Funny thing is, last year I saw those cardboard foldout stands loaded with "Christmas Portrait", which is OK, but "Collection" has all of their Christmas songs...some of the more obscure ones are beginning to become standards, but they aren't on "Portrait".

Definitely ready for the photo, Rick. Excited to see it. Yep, Captstraight, I grew up with them, too...watched the TV show in the summer, and the specials....now have them on tape, and glad to have. OE, that's great that it's been warm there, too. Breakfast, eh, Ming? What did you have?

Yeah,I love anything from the 70s.The Carol Burnett Show is one of favorite shows from the 70's along with The Donny and Marie Show.My mom likes stuff from the 70s,she is a fan of Andy Gibb and the Bee Gees, and I guess I got my interest in 70s things from her.

Don't leave Max outside too long...if it snows hard enough, you'll need an OnStar to find him!

But I think we had some chats in chatroom between the last party and this party. Ming You are right Ming... we did have a few chats in the chatroom... those are fun too... but these basement party's are great because we have a lifetime memory here online to look at over and over again. Dave... I'm with you I really enjoy "christmas Collection" much more than "Christmas Portrait" as it includes both Carpenters Christmas albums in the complete form. I just love "Home for The Holidays" from "An Old Fashioned Christmas"... Karen sings it with such a lilt. Karen pic... just around the corner.

Sunnybunny, I bet Max is a cute little dog and very happy to be in your home. By the way, don't get discouraged by the lack of recognition for the work you do with your forum- keep working on it, and enjoy it, and people (at least, most people) will come to see the value in what you do and more importantly, in who you are.
