Enigma, can you tell me what drew you so much to Karen, and still keeps you there today, sharing thoughts about her and the music with other fans? This is really a question for all, because I have never "followed" a particular artist or group in such a devoted way. And Dave, did you actually have dream "visits" from Karen, or what exactly did you mean?

And with each progressive album I came to love her more and more. she had a special quality in her voice - that you just don't find in many singers. I'm not really the star struck type - but for Karen I am struck.

Nah, those aren't my pets. As you know, my cat Mitaine died last April..., I still wake-up crying at least three times a week for him.
Ahhh, I finally removed it.

Dave, he worked on Navy Ships. Travelled all over the world. Rick, do you have more than just one sibling, and do you have family near you in California? How did you get started with this fantastic enterprise, this Fansite Supreme? Further, does ENIGMA actually KNOW ROLAND, or have you guys been on the site so long, it's like you really know lots about each other? And the others? Also, are there other fans in "other rooms" who are just watching and listening to us, but don't want to jump in? Are we hogging the messages? Are we INTERESTING?

Hi Palma.. I was a guest on the Basement Party back in July. I just wanted to say I love the song "Love Me For What I Am". Too bad I didn't get to it first. What a classic. Here's a special song which I shared with the group in July.

Its hard to say in words Karen has the ability to spin pain into gold. I knew she was in pain yet she and Richard made some of the most beautiful music in spit of their pain. Karen just connected with me through her near perfect phenomenal voice, her drumming skills her personality and so much more. She kind touches me on a different level than any other artist John Lennon does the same thing for me they are truely unigue artists and I miss both of their contributions to music and my life (from what I know of them) I am comforted that I have their legacies to fall upon any time I need to reminice. Also especially in Karens case I have recieved many unforseen benifits like making alot of cyberfriends on this and other Carpenter sites most fans seem to understand my connection with Karen and some are as devoted as I am. Thats my story in a long nutshell

Oh yeah! The first one was really strange, because I couldn't move. I had just found my late father (he passed in 1997) and he was seated in an auditorium. There was no else there except he and I, and he wasn't happy to see me. Just then, the curtain rose behind me, and I could see Jimmy Buffett seated on a stool, at the rear of the stage. Karen "beamed in" (it's what it really looked like), and began screaming "Who are you? Why are you doing this to me? Why do you care about me?" I found her statements curious because I didn't care about her. Her extreme anger towards me was frightening, but she noticed Jimmy, and picked up a mike and began singing along with him. I am still miffed that I couldn't hear the song they were singing! And so it began. There are things I can tell you that border on unbelievable, but she became a teacher of sorts. Here's one dream that happened before my family and I toured KSC: Karen and I were walking together at Cocoa Beach, FL. The launch pad lights of KSC illuminated the sky in the distance. Karen asked me "Why do you call me Karen Carpenter?" "Because that's your name, silly!" I replied. " 'Karen' is who I am. 'Carpenter' is who I was" was her reply. I took that to mean that once we cross over, who we were and what we did in this life have no bearing in Heaven.

Serious message, Roland. I have rescued cats for many years, trapping, spaying and neutering them on the street, putting many up for adoption, and fielding lots of questions from people desperate for help, and some, extremely grieved over losing beloved cats. I am sure MITAINE had a wonderful life with you, and she is still around you. They have often made themselves "evident" after death, both to me and many who have spoken with me. I have gone thru losing many myself, as their lifespan isn't as long as we wish it would be. I certainly know JUST HOW YOU FEEL, my friend.
