???I don't recall hearing this song until I heard it here on the Christmas Portrait album. I gave it 4 stars. I watched a video clip of it from I think that special they had, and it was truly beautifully done with Karen and others skating around. She has a long furry white coat. Anyone not in the Christmas mood, should surely have seen that. Such a pretty song.

"The Christmas Waltz" is one of my favorites of all Carpenters Christmas song. I really enjoy the waltz type rhythm and Karen's warm vocal.
A+ all the way... Great Song.

I love "Christmas Waltz" and give it 5, for sure. It was a very strong runner-up for my top 15 list. Like Kathy, I never heard it until I listened to the "Portrait" album (less than 2 years ago), and it seems Christmasy, and celebretory. I find the style very appealing- though ironically, another Carpenter song that reminds me of this one in style, but couldn't be much more diametrically opposed in theme/content is "Little Girl Blue."

5 Big Stars for this one. I remember hearing Christmas Waltz for the first time - by Carpenters on Christmas Portrait, though it was back when Portrait first came out....I'm with Katt and O.E., as I'd never heard this tune before - but I liked it immediately. One listen and I was hooked. I love how it starts out in a rubato fashion ".... Frosted window-panes, candles gleaming inside - painted candy canes on the tree - Santa's on his way, he's filled his sleigh with things - things for you and for me ..." And then the time begins. I like the use of both Karen's lower and upper registers on this tune. A nice variety of both is used, and used well. Beautiful, fun, enjoyable tune. Very evocative of the season! Tim

5 Stars I love the old timey feel this song gives me. The waltz beat adds to that feeling. Karen's voice is warm and sincere.
