My song of the day is "Fat" by Joe Henry. This song is from his 1999 album "Fuse". Joe Henry is one of the most unnderated artists I know. He deserves to be recognized more for his music. He's released several albums and they are all quality. I would term his music as being modern (sometimes experimental) adult contemporary with slight jazz undertones.

Rick just wondering if you stop back and read this did you feel that the death of Terry Kath Chicago's original guitarist had anything to do with you liking them less. I noticed your time reference ended the year he died(1978) . For me his death began a musical change for Chicago and I do not think they ever recovered fully after his death. Just some food for thought.
My SOTD is Does Anybody Know What Time It Is one of my favorite Chicago songs from Kath's era.

Enigma, yes that did make a big difference in their sound. They just didn't have the same energy anymore. Still an excellent band but not the same. My Song Of The Day is "Wishing You Were Here" by Chicago and the Beach Boys from 1974.

My song of the day is "Baseball" by Michael Franks. It's a nice easy going song with somewhat playful lyrics. Roland - I love "Love Is Like Oxygen" by Sweet especially the longer version from the album. I also like their hit "California Nights".

??! ??! ??!
My song of the day is: "The Power Of Gold" which was a top 40 hit in 1977 (maybe 1978) for Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg. with this song I discovered Dan Fogelberg. He is truly a great singer/songwriter.
My album of the day is: "Scar" by Joe Henry. Henry has an interesting voice which falls somewhere betwenn Leon Russell and Tom Waits, yet somewhat more refined in his tones. Most of his songs are moody and atmospheric jazz influenced tunes. His songs can be sonically adenturous and a bit experimental. "Scar" was released in 2001. Joe Henry has released something like ten albums to date.

My current "Song of the Day" is "Let them be Little" by Billy Dean. He is a country singer making a comeback and recently hit the top 10 with this song. It is all about letting kids be kids. My little boy is 5 and time is really passing so quickly. I love this song...

%?? My non Carpenters song of the day is "Verdict" by Joe Jackson from his excellent 1984 album "Body And Soul". This song has a somewhat blues type feel to it.

You mean there ARE non-Carpenters songs? Seriously, though... any ABBA fans out there?
Just curious...
I'm listening to "I Need To Be In Love" (and it does apply) right now...
