"I Have You" became one of the favorites from this album for me, along with "Boat to Sail" but "I Have You" has always been a song I could I think of someone with.
Until this day, whenever I play this song, I sing it for my Mom. Coincidentally too, I first saw the Carpenters perform with my Mom and cousin so it makes it even more special to place her along side it.
Other than that, out of all the albums I had up to that point, "Hush" was the most played one. Me and my friends would get together and sing from it a lot.

Loved what you've said here beaner, I see why I Have You is special to you in a lot of ways. That's one thing most folks have as treasures...their memories.

:(No doubt...I Have You gets 5 stars from me. Wonderful harmony and it's a song full of hope. No matter what rotten things come along everyone should have someone that they know will brighten their day a little. Spouse, friend, parent, lover, even a loyal pet could be "You". One of the first things I think of as a "You" is Jesus ...and /or our faith in Him or for others that "higher being" that gives them hope.

Three Stars
The highlights in this song are the lyrics and Karen's double tracked vocal in the chorus. The lyrics in this song really touch the soul with warmth and comfort. Karen's vocal performance on this song is excellent - but again not one I would consider to be amongst her most powerful.

5 stars. My second favourite on this album. (The first is 'I need to be in love'.) It is so warm.

4 stars
Very dreamy, almost a lullabye.
A very hopeful song of love. Not quite a classic, but another great song. At times, it seems like Karen is singing a duet with herself instead of just harmonizing.
