:)I gave this one a 3 stars...was never really crazy about the song in general when I first heard Manilow sing it. a bit too repetitive...like the C's version better of course...my fave part of it is the kind of "layered " harmony in about the middle of it..."you know I can't (can't ) smile without you...like an echo effect.

4-Stars
This is a great pop tune. Karen sings this one to perfection from beginning to end. Her voice shines like a bright sunny day. I always felt this would have been a great song for the Carpenters to release as a single.
Many people think that Barry Manilow recorded this song first but in actuality it was originally recorded and released by Carpenters two years before Manilow released it.

dIDN't know it. Once again seems it's about impossible to beat the C's on their versions of songs.

A well-crafted pop tune, but certainly not one of my favorites by the Carpenters or anyone else! The lyrics are just a touch too sugary for my liking. 3 stars for performance only.

1 star Really comes off as a boring song for the Carpenters. The version on the 1974/1978 Singles album is better, but still just "ok."
