Here we are after many rounds of The 70's Game we are at the Finals for 2006.
We have four songs which have won preliminary games, then semi-finals - now which song will win overall? The choice is yours.
Here are the choices:
"Old Days" by Chicago
"Imagine" by John Lennon
"Your Song" by Elton John
"Everything I Own" by Bread

I love all these songs. I VOTED for all these songs in the preceding rounds, but in the end I am going to go with the upbeat life message that Your Song delivers. (My gift is my song and this one's for you ... How wonderful life is while you're in the world!)

I went with "Everything I Own" by Bread. These are all 4 good songs and arrangements. Chicago is one of the greatest bands of all time, Elton is an icon in the music industry and John Lennon's "Imagine" was my runner-up choice. However, the way I decided it for me was to ask myself if I had a greatest hits album by each of these fine artists, which one would I listen and enjoy EVERY song on the album and my answer was Bread so there ya have it.
Thanks Rick, I enjoyed these rounds of play.

It's taken a long while to decide- and were it an issue of just the song I might give the nod to "Everything I Own" but largely in acknowledgement of possibly the most durable and certainly one of the best artists, (I just love "Daniel", for instance), I vote for the Elton John work, "Your Song."

All these songs are great...but Elton does it for me, beautiful intimate lyrics and piano...and just classic Elton.

My vote goes to Elton John's "Your Song". It's the pure and uncomplicated message of unconditional love which really captures me. This is one of those songs I never tire of - I still get as much from this song as I did 35 years ago.
I thought for sure it would be a close race between John Lennon's "Imagine" and Elton John's "Your Song" - with the competition leaning toward "Imagine" - but anything can happen throughout the day.
I will keep this round open until around 5:00 p.m. (PST) this evening.

The 70's Game Song of the Year has been determined. It is the spectacular "Your Song" by mega-superstar Elton John.
The poll has been closed on this round - so any further votes will not be counted. Though, I will leave the thread open for comments on the winning song.
I will start of fresh new round of the 70's Game 2007 later on today.
