This is the novelty round.
Both songs were huge hits by well known celebrities in the world of entertainment.
Here's the lowdown:
Disco Duck by Rick Dees and His Cast of Idiots reached #1 for one week on October 16, 1976 and was certified Platinum for selling more than two million copies. This song was a huge hit and was played continously in 1976. Rigdon Osmond Dees III was a disc jockey at WMPS-AM in Memphis when he recorded this song, a satire of the Disco craze that was in full swing at the time. After being fired by WMPS over his playing of the song on his show, Dees took his act to rival WHBQ-AM, from which the song took off nationwide, eventually reaching #1 on the US charts. This song was featured in the movie Saturday Night Fever but was not included on its soundtrack album. Aside from this song, Dees is best known as the host of the syndicated Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40, which began in 1983, and as morning show host at Los Angeles radio station KIIS, where he worked from 1982-2004
King Tut by Steve Martin and the Toot Uncommons - Reached #17 in July 1978 and was certified Gold for selling over one million copies. This song is a satire on the famous King Tutankhamun, who lived around 1340 B.C. Steve Martin, who needs no introduction, was a popular guest on Saturday Night Live, where he originally performed "King Tut". At first, "The King Tut" was a dance unto itself called "Egyptian Style." Dancers point their arms and head in different directions in an imitation of ancient Egyptian paintings.
Which song is your favorite?

Never cared for D. Duck, and always like St. Martin so King Tut does it for me.

My vote also goes to Steve martin's "King tut". I bought this single immediately after I heard it - and played it tons of times. Recently I included this song on a compilation disc I made - and really enjoyed hearing it again after more then 20 years.
Steve Martin's "King Tut" wins this round hands down and will go to the Semi-Finals Round Four.
This round is officially closed.
