*$ @@ I just made a compilation disc to play in my car. One of the songs included is a top 20 hit from 1979-1980 called "Pilot Of The airwaves" by a wonder hit artist named Charlie Dore. Charlie is a female voicalist from London, England. She has a nice voice. sometimes similar to Olivia Newton-John. I really like the lyric about calling a late night DJ to request a song.

???Don't guess I know that one...but sounds like a good one. Of course, I love Olivia N.J. when you mentioned about the d. j., and that lyric...J. Denver's Windsong album has Late Night Radio and that reminds me of what you said...."late night radio...take it everywhere I go, my best friend when I'm lonely is my late night radio"he's talking about that he's an all night truck driver...you probably know that one...anyway,...gotta go..

Hi Enigma! Just curious if you checked your archives for this song. did you find it? Yes it took a little searching but I did find it on a compilation album so I gave it another listen. Of couse it was immediately familiar. It was not anything new musically a nice accustic number with your typical electric solo (wonder who pioneered that idea? hmmm). I do like the song and its DJ subject matter...a nice song to listen to every so often and worthy of being on a 70's compilation disk. I guess Charlie does kind of remind me of early ONJ if not the voice the music has some simularity's to ONJ's early work. BTW Rick what is the track listing of your compilation I would like to see what else you put on this CD

I felt it belonged there as the songs on it are from several decades and not just the 70's. Here's a link to the thread: carponline.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=gereralmusic&action=display&thread=1109049069
