Hey Jimmy G!
"Any Day Now" is really one of my favorites, I can hardly believe that this is a live recording. I mean this whole Medley proove thet they're amazing. Karen's leading Vocals and Richard backing vocals made of this tune something absolutely flawless.
Regards

"Any Day Now" is one of my favorites. It is the one song I play most now. It is a toss-up for me: which one I like better--that one or "Make It Easy On Yourself" from the Bacharach Medley.
I had "Any Day Now" first on a Rarities compilation--but the quality is poor (some hiss...have to turn down treble)--and it cuts off abruptly...somebody has just recorded it, alone, from the Bacharach Medley. But I was STUNNED at the clarity of the song on the Readers Digest disc.

Hi all, the extended live Bacharach / David medley is amazing. Karen's performance on "Baby It's You" is flawless. I think it's better than the studio recording on the "Close To You" album. But my favorite song in the medley is "Make It Easy On Yourself", Karen is intense on this one, beautiful, beautiful song.

I wish Carpenters would have done more of that bossanova sound, it suited them so well. Our Day Will Come was so good and I think could have been a single, eventhough it is pretty short.

This is an older poll but thought i'd put my vote in. I would go with the End Of The World for the Oldies Medley. This is a typical Karen Carpenter ballad with a beutiful voice that tugs at ones emotions. Another excellent vocal performance (as usual).
As far as the Bacharach Meclley, my vote would go with I'll Never Fall in Love Again. It is clear to me why they issued a full version of this song on The Close To You album; a simple but good song with a sweet vocal by Karen. I also like the piano on the Walk On By part of the medley reminds me of early Zombies recordings (eg She's Not There). My favorite Richard lead vocals are always on the Medleys for some reason.

My favorite has to be ''OUR DAY WILL COME''.
Second is ''END OF THE WORLD''.
I wish karen would have recorded full length versions of these songs.
Full length versions of many of those songs in the medley would have made '' NOW AND THEN'' even better.
Its still a wonderful album but full versions would have been better.

Our Day Will Come and Johnny Angel are my favorites. Of the Richard lead vocals I like Night Ha A 1000 Eyes.
