I love them all, but these are my favorites...
1. Home For the Holidays 2. He Came Here For Me 3. The Christmas Waltz 4. Little Altar Boy 5. Christ Is Born
I love the homespun feel of "Home For The Holidays", it's reminiscent of songs like "Top Of The World" and "Those Good Old Dreams". "He Came Here For Me" is one of those most beautiful songs, so dramatic in it's simplicity that it's brings tears to my eyes. "This Christmas Waltz" has a warm romantic feel about it. Karen's voice has a glow and a lilt to it. I like the musical reference "and this song of mine in 3/4 time". "Little Altar Boy" this is one of Karen's most soulful vocal performances. "Christ Is Born" A beautiful, beautiful song. Karen sings this with all her heart and soul.

Cool - love this one.
1. Merry Christmas, Darling - what a GREAT tune this is. 2. Winter Wonderland - I have always particularly liked this arrangement. It's driving, upbeat, and well done. 3. It's Christmas Time/Sleep Well Little Children This is just such a great medley - 4. Ave Maria 5. I'll be home for Christmas. One of my favorite Christmas songs anyway, and no one delivers a song like our Karen.

OK - here's my favorite top 5 Carpenter Christmas songs:
1. Merry Christmas Darling 2. The Christmas Song 3. Ave Maria 4. Little Altar Boy 5. Silent Night
Boy could Karen sing Christmas songs. It just takes my breath away! Merry Christmas Darling has become a Christmas classic, which is not easy to do. Radio stations that don't play Carpenters during the rest of the year, play the heck out of this wonderful song.
I'm so glad that Karen's voice is part of the chorus of top tier singers of all time who have recorded The Christmas Song. Written by Mel Torme, it represents everything that is so glorius about Christmas.
Ave Maria should only be attempted by a master singer. Karen, being one of those masters, handles this difficult religious song. A masterpiece!
Little Altar Boy always grabs my heart and squeezes it of all it's emotion. Little Altar Boy can you pray for me. Can you ask our Lord my sins to wash away.....Worshipful and hits the core of the Christian message.
Silent Night - so many have recorded this song or just sung it at the holiday season, but nobody touches Karen's soulful and searing version.
So there's my five choices, by no means complete and subject to revision. Merry Christmas to all dear friends!!!
