Hej, All...
I'm Scott, a recent emigrant from ABBAland... I've been a Carpenters fan since 1989 when I sat in Mom and Dad's bedroom in Vista, CA and watched "The Karen Carpenter Story". In March of that year, a friend and I took a road trip to Downey. After a lot of searching, we found Lubec, and I met Mary. She said Richard wasn't home but kindly invited me back in a few hours. My friend and I went out to eat, then went back. I met Richard and had him sign my "Made In America" cassette. We talked for a bit, and I left.
Both Mary and Richard are very nice people...
So, anyone else love ABBA around here???

Hi Scott, I adore ABBA too. Love their tight harmonies, and their distinctive voices. You know, in the 1980's there was a Christian pop group called SILVERWIND and they sound very similar to Abba...really neat. The neat thing about Karen in comparison to the Abba women, is Karen's voice was not trained like the ABBA women, and Karen, before concerts, never did warmups of any kind...she just opened up her mouth and just sang, and THAT voice came out... Welcome aboard!! Cam
