Hi all.
As I have finally registered myself on the forum it is about time I introduce myself. My name is Christian and I live in Oslo, Norway (know where it is?) I`ve been a Carpenters fan for about 12years now and over the years I have collected quite a bit of their records and various memorabelia. It all started with The Karen Carpenter Story, followed by The Singles 69-73 and the fantastic Top of the world and my love for their music has been growing ever since and is a great inspiration and cherished part of my life.
Favourite album must be Horizon because of the fantastic vocals by Karen on this, I believe this album proved a new dimension of her beautiful voice. A Song For You and A Kind of Hush are other favourites.
As for favourite songs, Superstar, Only Yesterday, There`s A Kind Of Hush, This Masquerade, Top Of The World and All You Get From Love...But I do love them all.
Once again, it`s great to be a member here and also once again cudos to Rick for creating the forum and providing a place for us Carpenters fans on the internet where we can communicate and share. Keep up the good work Rick!!!
Sincerely, Christian

Welcome Christian! I think it is great to meet other CARPENTERS fans! I remember when I would be the only one who liked the Carpenters while everyone else liked Paula Abdul, Wilson Phillips, MC Hammer, Whitney Houston, C+C Music Factory. I think you have great taste in music. The Carpenters made some wonderful, classy, timeless music. I also love This Masquerade...I mean, she was 22 when she sang and recorded this, and it just shows maturity vocally and emotionally. Amazing when you actually think of that. And Only Yesterday, another magnificent song! Vocals are amazing...mood, atmosphere. Well, we look forward to hearing your thoughts on the many different topics...

Hey Christian, My problem is that I think WAY TOO MUCH on the Carpenters. Or so my friends tell me. But if you can believe it, I have really calmed down in the last 6 years or so, with my fascination of the Carpenters. I still love them! I just keep it hidden, but when on this wonderful online forum...I can't stop posting...yikes!! As Karen sang, "HELP!"

Cameron clongo83@hotmail.com The way I look at it Cam we all need to have our outlet in life. It's important to have a hobby, job or project which you can pour your emotions into. I think you are very creative in the way you express yourself. I really enjoy reading your stories on "What If Karen Lived". They are very interesting.

:)Welcome Christian and all other new members! I totally agree with Rick that we all need an outlet or hobby. And Cameron I really love your stories about Karen and your thoughts. It's Ok by me anyway, for you to be "over the edge" about the Carpenters..cuz I know I am, and I also know what you mean about maybe feeling like others may think you 're a little too crazy about them..well,..so it goes..I also was and still am some about John Denver. I will admit openly for my love of the Carps. and Denver. But, I may be in the closet a little about David C. and the Partridge Family (yes, lost in the 70's .......myomy!
but the Carpenters are way and beyond anything or anyone else as far as their own music and vocals..

SmooTHie The Carpenters' music is truly way beyond many who were popular throughout the 70's. there music is quality and timeless. I also like John Denver. One of my favorite songs by him is "Calypso". And I will admit David Cassidy is an above average singer. I really like his solo album named "Rock Me Baby", with the title tune and his version of "How Can I Be Sure". Cassidy also did an excellent version of "Cherish".

:)Absolutely! David Cassidy has also come "full circle" as well by surviving his fame , losing fortune (I lose my fortunes All the Time..ha!) and then is recognized as a great performer in his own right. saw Denver in Lubbock in '78 and he was so oooogreat!
