8-)As long as I can remember I've been listening to the carpenters. Karen's voice has graced my life from a very young age. I never would have thought that the Carpenters would go on to become the legendary band that they have become. I think it's great that generation after generation continues to find their music enthralling. It's like as if Karen is still with us.

;)hi boats..hope you've had a good day...I really like what you wrote here..how Karen has graced our lives and that's a good way to describe her and no, no one at the time, really would have thought the two of them would have such an impact on music then and now. I recall listening to a small portable radio I had when I was about 12 or so out on the farm. By then, my siblings were out of the house and I was the only kid around, and to just listen to the radio was always something I did. One of the first songs I remember was Rainy Days and that voice really struck me as it did so many others. At the odd age of 12 puberty trying to get me ..I guess I related as far as when the words were sung.."feelin' like I don't belong"...

Hi Laura! Welcome to the forum Hope you enjoy it as much as I do and that you will have a great time here. I always find it so interesting that we are such a mixed crowd here, from people who discovered the Carpenters when they first arrived on the scene to those of of who got to know them second time around. They are truly one of the greatest performers ever, and Karens voice will always be the greatest voice this world ever saw and heard! Once again, welcome Laura! Christian
