I haven't seen all the C's performances that are available on tape by a long shot, but I do love the '74 Live in Japan concert at Budokan.
Both R. and K. look great in denim outfits.
I guess denim never goes out of style really, but I notice new fashions now include the same type of outfits they wore at that concert. Denim and embroidery and even bell bottoms back "in".

Hi Just me chiming in again lol, I agree with Ricks Oldies Medly as this is my favorite part of the show especially when Karen was really getting into the performance while playing the drums of course I also liked the superstar Rainy days medley that opened the show. I also agree that Karens outfit was nice I liked the Red hearts on the denum as well nice tough. Karen was really starting to show stle at this point no more granny dresses though I liked her in those as well.   |

I just love to watch it over and over again.
Like you Smoothie and Enigma, I think that Karen and Richard look fantastic in their outfits. Over the course of the show Karen is getting more and more beautiful.
You only mentioned the hearts on Karen's clothes, but I always wonder about those figure on her trousers. I've never seen anything like this before.
Does anybody know what this is, a special brand maybe?
Like Rick, my favourites of the show are Help, Jambalaya (I love how Karen interacts with the audience) and of course the Oldies Medley. Another favourite of the show is Sing. This performance of Sing was the first time I consciously saw the Carpenters. From the very first time I was amazed by Karen's voice and her whole demeanour.
I also love when, at the end of the video, you see Karen running back on the stage to get her flowers. This is simply delightful!

I do love all that. Also the part of Leader of the Pack where she plays along leaning on the microphone head down....and then she revives and sings "leader of the pack, but now he's gone....
and then into Johnny Angel.
Truly "out there" and at their best. and Indeed the Drums!!!
