Hi Everybody! Great forum and site!! I have a few questions i hope you can help me with. I have all US pic.sleeve singels exept for two and i was wondering if you can confirm something for me. Was All you get from love... adn Sweet Smile released with pic.sleeves in the us? They arer shown in the Decade book but are they from the US? And which US pic.sleeves are the most difficult to come by?
I am from Norway myself, not much by the Carpenters to find here but I have a very big collection which I have collected over the years(incl Offering album, lots of jap. pic.sleeves and tourbooks) Have you seen the Horizon song book. I found it some time ago but had forgotten I had it. It`s fantastic!!! Mine in near mint. What is the value of such an item? Hope anyone can help me with these questions.
Christian

Welcome to this forum, Christian!! You come from a so far and frozen place!!. I saw that song book many years ago in a records store in my country, Dominican Republic, but I could not buy it because I had not money(I was a teenager) . I lost the opportunity to get it and now it's difficult to find any Carpenters song book here. But years after that, I acquired two song books, "Carpenters:Songs From the Albums Close to You and Ticket To Ride" and "Carpenters:Anthology". They are great!! If you get the DVD,"Close to You:Remembering The Carpenters", you will see all the USA singles sleeves and what you saw in the Decade booklet(a fan club official release from USA) is entirely in the DVD mentioned above. The VHS tape does not contain that special feature.

[glow=red,2,300]Welcome Christian[/glow]. I have the [glow=green,2,300]Horizon [/glow]songbook. It is assembled quite well. The pictures are great.
Both "All You Get From Love Is A Love Song" and "Sweet Sweet Smile" were released with a picture sleeve. The sleeve for "All You Get..." has a black background with The Carpenters logo in red and the single title in white beneath the logo. The "Sweet Smile" sleeve is a white background with the words SWEET - SWEET - SMILE in red letters staggered one beneath the other and the name Carpenters in the top right corner underlined with red.

Thanx very much both of you! Then it is the american pic.sleeves of sweet smile and All you get which are shown in the decade book. Are they hard to come by? I gave Calling occupants which was really hard to find. I Love the All you get from live sleeve aswell as Kind Of Hush Sleee and Santa Claus Is..(I have the Juke Box special sleeve) Most of my collection is at my parents house which is a 3hour travel from me so I don`t see my collection often. Are there any items that are particularly sought after(of the records, books etc)?
Take care guys! Christian

One of the hardest to find Carpenters items, which I myself would like is an edition of The Singles 1969-1973 which was pressed on red vinyl. There weren't many made. Copies of this go for $500.00 and up.

Of course the original "Offering" album is a sought after item.
All the albums from 1970 to 1975 were released in Quadrophonic sound. These are hard to find. According to the Goldmine Price Guide they are worth about $25.00 to $30.00 dollars each.

How about the Magic Lamp Karen Carpenter single from 1967 Looking for Love / I'll Be Yours, it's value is something like $2000.00 that's alot of money!

Another item which is worth quite a bit of money is the promo CD single of Karen's "If I Had You" which was released in 1989. I've seen it sell for as much as $60.00.

The unreleased DJ promo single of Little Alter Boy/Do You hear What I Hear? must be worth something.
