Because of the magnificent way Richard arranged this song, and the way Karen executed the rich vocals, it makes me think of "Just The Way You Are" and how much I would have loved to have heard Richard's arrangement of this Billy Joel classic, as well as Karen's beautiful vocals. I'm reminded of Just The Way You Are when I listen to Masquerade.....I'm sure it would have been as big, if not a bigger "hit" for Carpenters as it was for Billy. I can just hear in my mind the lavish vocal arrangements RC might choose to use for the background vocals. Billy uses synths for his background vocal sounds, whereas I'm sure Rich would have used a great ping-pong, full lush sound of he and Karen building up this beautiful love song. It could have certainly been included on the "album of jazz" mentioned earlier in the thread. Just some early morning thoughts........... ???Tim
