Hi All, I have always adored this song by Richard Carpenter on the 1984 Christmas album, AN OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS. But you can feel the sadness lingering in the air. Especially in his voice when he sings, "Children's eyes in sweet expectation, wondering what each present could hold..." But his voice sounds wonderful. Even though the choir is great, you wish Karen was there, and singing...A melancholy song that makes you wish...
My thoughts, Cameron

This is truly a wonderful song. I wish Karen, of course, or another amazing voice would cover it and make it into a classic.
